The Harvard Ed Portal is a collaborative partnership involving Harvard, the Allston-Brighton community, and the City of Boston. The Ed Portal is the Allston-Brighton community’s front door to Harvard’s educational, arts, wellness, and workforce and economic development programs.

WHAT: Full tuition remission on any undergraduate or graduate Certificate or Microcertificate program at the Harvard Extension School.  This supports all the classes necessary to fulfill a certificate or microcertificate program at the Harvard Extension School.  More information about pursing a Certificate can be found here. ELIGIBILTY:  Allston-Brighton residents who are age 18+. Applicants must complete an application for a free membership to the Harvard Ed Portal if they are not already a member. Free Ed Portal Membership applications can be filled out here.

DECISION NOTIFICATION:  Recipients will be notified by email from the Harvard Ed Portal the week of July 14th. Registration begins in mid-July. The Ed Portal will send out a detailed email to all recipients with instructions on how to register at that time.   

SELECTION PROCESS:  Upon review of the applications, 5 awardees will be selected by the Allston-Brighton Scholars Committee, which is made up of Allston Brighton residents, Harvard staff, and local nonprofit representatives. 

Please note:
  Recipients will be asked to sign a release to allow enrollment verification data to be shared with the program administrator. Recipients will also be asked to sign a Letter of Understanding document before enrolling in the Certificate Program. The courses will be taken each Fall and Spring semester until certificate completion. Failure to enroll in classes or failure to meet necessary grade requirements may result in removal from the program. Students must earn a grade of B, B+, A-, or A in a certificate course in order to have it count toward the certificate.
